It’s not a secret to long time followers that I’m a big fan of Wolverine. Just look back at my comic comments tag and you’ll find a lot of Wolverine. While the movies have been fun up to now I’ve not felt he has gotten the movie he deserved for being one the strongest franchise characters for Marvel. That ended this March. Sadly the last movie with Hugh Jackman as Logan did them both justice. Continue reading
I have an unique taste in TV. I’ll admit it. Generally my favorite series get cancelled after the first season (Firefly, Flashforward, Dresden Files). I also primarly watch true crime shows. (Most of my set recordings are ID Network). However since moving here I discovered the Viceland network. It’s quirkly off beat and edgy. One series that I record from there is Balls Deep. It is a series starring Thomas Morton where he immerses himself in a subculture to better understand the members. He’s a very unassuming man with a quiet deameanor but he’s game to experience various cultures.
Okay I’ll answer the burning question – I don’t know why the frog holding a valentine is a bead but enjoy. Here’s wishing you and yours a very happy and loving Valentine’s Day. Thanks for reading.
This Tuesday is another movie. Again an older one but I just saw it a few weeks ago. The premise is that through some medication/chemical a woman is able to unlock her brain and use 100% of it. I hoped for more than what I actually got. It was entertaining but honestly I wouldn’t tell a friend to go out of their way to see it. However if it’s on and you are looking for something to watch, it’s not say Nothing But Trouble which I wouldn’t inflict on anyone. Continue reading
This is a film from 2015 but I just watched it a few weeks ago. It’s about an FBI who winds up on a Mexican drug cartel task force. Her morals are tested much as the subjects in the real life documentary Cartelland‘s were. Questions of when do the ends justify the means? Is it more important to get justice or revenge? What compromises in your personal moral code are acceptable to do your job? What principles do you hold higher than your life? Can you trust someone whose answers differ from yours to these questions? When do two wrongs make a right? Do they ever?
These three give you plenty to ponder. Two are shows that both ficional and nonfictional. Black Tapes is a fictional tale that sets itself as real – think Blair Witch style. Generation Why goes into strange questions looking for information then triest to separate facts from fiction. Finally the Trial Went Cold is all true, real cases that are cold but deserve answers.
Happy Anniversary to my partner in life. I’ve been Mary Louise Eklund over a decade longer than I was Mary Louise Bright. Sure marriage is work in some ways the hardest part for me were the seperations when he had to answer the needs of the Navy. I find every day life with him is so much more comfortable and right than without. I’ve always tried to support him in all his endeavors. I can firmly say he’s always supported me in mine even when he doesn’t understand why or exactly what I’m doing. Then again that’s love isn’t it letting each other be themselves and being stronger when you are together. So here’s to many more years with my better half.
